The activities of the International Festival of Culture and Art, El Globo en Yucatan will begin today, January 20, starting at 13:00 hours at the Yucatán Race Track.
The festivities kicked off yesterday with 27 hot air balloons that have come to the Yucatan, exclusively to take part of the first edition of this Festival, plus 8 companies that have also brought their own hot air balloons, such as Telcel, for a total of 35.
According to the organization committee, if the weather allows it, there will be between 300 and 500 people who will be able to live the experience of flying in hot air balloon, plus other 500 to 700 who will have the opportunity to participate in “captive flights”, those in which the balloon is anchored to the ground, but elevates between 30 and 40 meters high.
Today, Friday Jan. 20th, at 4:00 pm. a parade will take place on Paseo de Montejo, for all people to admire the gondolas and their “dragon-like” spitting fire burners.
During the three days of activities, organizers expect to receive about 25 thousand people in the Autódromo.
