World’s largest cruise ship starts regular visits to Cozumel

COZUMEL, Q. Roo  — Harmony of the Seas by Royal Caribbean landed in Cozumel as scheduled, staying on the island for half-a-day before carrying on with her journey.

The vessel billed as the “world’s largest cruise ship” docked at the international pier for the first time with more than 8,700 people on board. The 362 meter cruise ship landed at the island Thursday Nov. 24, a stop that will become regular as part of the Royal Caribbean itinerary.

The 16-level ship, with its 2,500 staterooms and 23 swimming pools, will continue to arrive at Cozumel twice a month during peak tourist season as part of its Caribbean tour, with forwarding stops in Haiti and Jamaica.
