FreedomPop said in a statement that the agreement will allow it to take advantage of the existing distribution network of Dish Mexico to offer for the first time in Mexico free mobile phone services, Notimex reported.
FreedomPop will be responsible for the operational aspects, while Dish Mexico will provide distribution, customer service and “local experience”.
Dish Mexico, a company owned by Dish and MVS Communications, will also provide an undisclosed amount of capital for the start of operations in that country.
FreedomPop said the deal with Dish Mexico will serve as a model for similar agreements with companies in other countries, including Germany, Italy, Australia, and countries in Asia, where it plans to begin offering services in 2017.

“We chose FreedomPop as our strategic partner in Mexico because our main objective is to consistently deliver value to the consumer and we have seen the company do this in other countries, so the model is proven,” said Ernesto Vargas Guajardo, CEO of MVS communications.
FreedomPop, based in Los Angeles, provides free voice, data and text service and sells cell phones, tablets and other adjuncts connecting to the internet.
