The International Fair of Havana (FIHAV, for its acronym in Spanish), the largest trade event in Cuba, will host for the first time the I Investment Forum, seeking to achieve greater connection between Cuban entrepreneurs and foreign investors.
In a statement, the embassy of Cuba in Mexico said the 34th edition of the FIHAV 2016, which will take place from October 31 to November 4, is expected to receive about 4,500 exhibitors from over 60 countries.
The I Investment Forum will be held on November 1 and 2, at the fairgrounds ExpoCuba, home of FIHAV, after the official opening of the fair, in which the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba (MINCEX, for its acronym in Spanish) will launch the Opportunities portfolio 2016.
During the afternoon session of the Forum conference “Opportunities in Cuba for Foreign Investment” with the participation of MINCEX managers, investors in Cuba and other regional entities will participate.
The Forum will be supported by a digital platform with basic information on priority sectors for investment, which will be available through the website www. foro.feriahavana.com until October 30 to allow interviews with Cuban representatives.
It is not necessary to be registered as a participant in the fair and anyone interested in learning about investment opportunities in Cuba can access the meeting and make an appointment.
“The Forum is part of a group of actions being undertaken to continue to show to potential foreign investors guarantees and advantages that Cuba offers, since the entry into force in June 2014, of Law 118 on foreign Investment,” said Viviana Garcia Fonseca, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy.
FIHAV 2016 is reaffirmed as a consolidated multi-sector trade show, which this time will have more than 20 thousand square meters of exhibition area.
