Institutions and cultural authorities called creatives and academics from Yucatan to compete for one of the 50 residencies in different disciplines in Austrian cities Vienna and Salzburg.
The Creators can apply in disciplines such as visual arts, composition, filming, writing, literary translation, artistic and cultural education and interdisciplinary art, science and technology, as part of the 2017 Artist Residency Program.
For this, the Ministry of Culture and Arts (Sedeculta, for its acronym in Spanish) extended the invitation promoted by the General Directorate of Educational and Cultural Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE, for its acronym in Spanish), the National Arts Centre (Cenart, for its acronym in Spanish) and KulturKontakt from Austria.
The invitation, according to the call, is addressed to artists who have completed their professional studies, and as long as they are under 40 years old and born after December 31, 1975.
The aim is to give the opportunity to Mexican talent to complete a personal project and to be advised by the Arts Center of Salzburg, while getting familiar with the art scene and the cultural environment of the country, during their stay in one of the mentioned cities.
In addition the residents will visit galleries, studios and museums, make contact with the field of literature and publishing, and gain access to the musical environment of cities.
According to the invitation, the length of the stay will depend on the artistic discipline: for example a month for artistic and cultural education, two in the case of literary translators, and a quarter for visual artists.
To participate it is necessary for applicants to have basic knowledge of English and German languages. The people selected will be picked by a jury of experts.
The call will remain open until September 30 or October 15, 2016, depending on the category.
