Yucatan and the People’s Republic of China will strengthen their partnership in the workplace to promote greater welfare and workers’ rights, state officials and leaders of labor unions from China said in a meeting Monday July 11 in Merida, Notimex reported.
With the assistance of the president of the Federation of Trade Unions of Jiangsu province, Xing Chunning, Yucatan Governor Rolando Zapata Bello stressed that cultural exchange, trade links and constant diplomatic visits between Chinese and Yucatecan authorities show a willingness to cooperate and strong bonds of friendship between Mexico and the eastern nation.
“International partnerships can provide us the opportunity to share experiences, identify challenges and establish agreements that allow us to move forward,” the president added.
Meanwhile, Xing Chunning stressed the importance of China and Mexico to maintain a relationship of effort and confidence so the two countries jointly advance in the workplace, in order to guarantee the rights of the sector and raise wages.
The official also said that China’s Jiangsu Province exports to Mexico machinery and electronic equipment that result in seven million US dollars. She also highlighted that the province has tourism resources.
