Merida doctor: ‘Striving every day for a world without psoriasis’

Dr. Guillermo Martínez of Merida is an internationally reknowned practicioner specializing in psoriasis patients from many countries. In this exclusive interview with The Yucatan Times, Dr. Martínez explains his unique approach and techniques for successfully treating this common disease.

My name is Guillermo Nikolai Martínez Castillejos, and I have been researching psoriasis for the last 25 years.

It all started when a dear member of my family got sick of psoriasis, and we started a quest trying to find someone who could help us with the problem.

We went to see all types of dermatologists, different institutions in Mexico and abroad, and all we found was that all these physicinas prescribe medicines mostly made of cortisone.

As time went by, I was forced to take some major decisions, because my relative could not take it any longer, and with this illness, not only the patient suffers, but everybody around him or her suffer too, and specially when you try everything without results.

So this is how it all began. I started a long process of technical and scientific research, experimentation and therapy, to find a cure for this disease, and after years of investigation, this process finally led me to find an effective remedy, and some time later I patented my invention. Today my product is known worldwide, and I am holder of the national and global patent.

But it all started when I found that psoriasis is caused by a simple bacteria that goes for the thyroid gland, and from there, it triggers a reaction which is manifested at skin level, and that was when I realized that, at that moment, the patient had gone completely acidic, loosing the alkalinity factor.

When I was visiting doctors here and there with my family member, we collected personal information from many other psoriasis patients, you know, we used to say: “If you find an effective remedy, let me know”. And so, when I came up with my product, we started sending all these people free samples, and surprisingly, the product started working for them.

So, when we least expected it, we had over 200 people totally cured from psoriasis and most of them provided photographs as evidence of what we were doing. At that moment, I decide to take the product to the next phase of research, and started to apply it in all types of patients with psoriasis.

I also started all the paperwork required by the Ministry of Health, in order to obtain the official registration of my invention. I did not know back then what that item could be; I thought it was a medicine, but the health department said it was an herbalist remedy, due to the kind of ingredients and product formulation. But, for the patient it does not make any difference whether it is a drug or herbal remedy; the important thing is that it was working, and it was changing the lives of many people for good.

This whole investigation process began about 25 years ago, and for more or less 5 years, we can say that this stage has already been concluded.

In a few words, I can tell you that what I found is that the bacterial behavior alters the thyroid gland, producing a high acidity state, and that acidity causes the thyroid to stop producing thyroxine, when our body does not produce thyroxine, it results in lack of serotonin, but what is serotonin? It is a hormone that allows us to have tranquility, feel happy and get to sleep, so when our body does not produce enough serotonin, the central and peripheral nervous systems start to produce a lot of adrenaline, and an imbalance occurs, having a shortage of serotonin and an excess of adrenaline, and that is why many people with psoriasis suffer emotional disturbance.

Therefore, I found that this condition that affects patients with psoriasis emotionally is not mental or psychological, but 100% pathological.

At the same time, with this research I detected that the bacteria that causes psoriasis originates in the thyroid, and from there, it migrates to the skin, which is alkaline, turning it acid and producing psoriasis at skin level.

In many books it is said that psoriasis is a process of reproduction at the cellular level, and that’s what causes flaking. However, this is incorrect, since I have been able to demonstrate that psoriasis is caused by a high degree of acidity in the skin, which also causes a high level of dehydration.

That’s why we can say that somehow this product came to change paradigms.

Since psoriasis affects patients aesthetically, and in fact people do not even know that it is not contagious, the patient is rejected. For me, the psoriasis patient has always been an extraordinary warrior, because despite being sick and being rejected, they never give up trying to find a cure.

And with this product, in just 15 days we change the pH of the skin, and are beginning to remove the itching, burning, redness, dehydration, etc, and this makes the patient feel good physically and mentally.

Day 1 to 15 we use a concentration of 50 of Alnus acuminata and Phytolacca americana.
Day 15 to 30 we use a concentration of 75.
From day 30 to 45 we use a concentration of 100.

The reason we gradually raise the level of concentration is because the body needs to go through a process of adaptation to the product in order to stabilize the pH of the skin. But finding the correct dose took us several years.

Today we have patients who have come from Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Italy, Canada, USA and many other countries. All of them literally changed their lives with our product, so as you can see,  we’re not just talking about Mexico, but worldwide.

But there is something very important for all of our patients, that with our remedy, psoriasis does not return. In all other treatments out there for this disease, psoriasis always returns, but by using our ointment, we guarantee it never returns.

However, there is something very important that the patient must learn. The patient must learn to take care of his/her throat for a month. For a week they have to use an antiseptic called Isodine and make gargles with it, and the remaining three weeks of the month, they can use the mouthwash of their choice.

We must keep in mind that psoriasis starts with a bacterial reproduction process in the throat area, and then it affects the thyroid. This gland enters a decompensation process, and this triggers a chemical reaction that has to do with pH and that’s how people get psoriasis.

Our product is completely changing the lives of human beings, and one of the most important things, is that the patient does not have to ingest it, it is topically applied, using an ointment and a shampoo.

The patient just needs to apply the ointment every night before going to sleep, and bathe using the shampoo every morning, that’s it. As simple as that.

In 2006 we obtained an international patent, along with the export permit, The name of our product is “SKASHKASH”.

The Phytolaca and birch that are used to produce the skashkash come from San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas; the plants are collected, processed and the extracts sent here for us to finish the process in our laboratory.

When the patient buys the product, he gets a kit including ointment, shampoo and a book with an explanation, directions, description of product and photographs of “before and after” in cases of psoriasis.

Finally, I would like to make clear that this discovery has nothing to do with a matter of vanity or scientific recognition, but what is most important to me is that this product comes to change the lives of many people suffering from this difficult disease that affects patients in a physical and psychological way. Because only when you are close to people suffering from this disease, you can understand their suffering.

And here comes my motto: “Striving every day for a world without psoriasis“.

The invention concerns a pharmaceutical formulation of herbal medicines comprising hydroalcoholic Phytolacca americana and Alnus acuminata extracts and coal tar for treating and curing psoriasis in all its pathological forms.

The ointment, which constitutes the preferred embodiment of the invention is applied for a period between 25 and 60 days on the body parts affected by psoriasis. In case of psoriasis on the scalp, a shampoo, which constitutes the preferred embodiment of the invention, is applied during the patient’s daily health care so as to allow the shampoo to act for 15 minutes before rinsing with water. The invention also concerns methods for obtaining hydroalcoholic Phytolacca americana and Alnus acuminata extracts.
