Hyatt to open new properties in Riviera Maya, Mexico City and Guadalajara

Three new hotels, two of which will be brands that are new to Mexico, have been announced by Hyatt Hotels.

A Hyatt Andaz, a luxury brand, will open in the Mayakoba tourism development in the Riviera Maya, while a Hyatt House, an extended-stay hotel, will open in the Santa Fe district of Mexico City.

It will be connected with the American British Cowdray Medical Center, also known as the Hospital ABC, said Álvaro Valeriani, Hyatt’s vice-president of sales for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Both properties will begin operating towards the end of this year.

The third hotel, to be accompanied by residential, commercial and office space, will be a Hyatt Regency in Guadalajara.

The new investments, whose value was not revealed, will add another 600 rooms to Hyatt’s Mexican inventory, which currently stands at 3,128 rooms in nine hotels.

In the past few months the hotelier has opened four new Hyatt Place hotels in Los Cabos, Tijuana, Ciudad del Carmen and La Paz while in December last year it inaugurated the Grand Hyatt in Playa del Carmen.
