MÉRIDA, YUCATÁN – We reported last year on an upcoming e-book launch, and now, slightly later than planned (hey, this is Mexico!) we’re pleased to announce that “Frutas y Verduras – The Fresh Regional Produce of Mexico” will be launched on May 20.

Created by Canadian Chef Margret Hefner, the guide is the result of over two years of researching and experimenting with the vibrant, fresh flavors of her adopted home country of Mexico.

Created with expats, visitors and fresh food lovers in mind, this guide is a tool that will help the user navigate Mexico’s dynamic markets and shop with confidence. It will transform a potentially overwhelming and discouraging market visit into a fun and productive outing.

With access to images of each item in various contexts the user will be able to identify the fruits and vegetables they come across, even with no Spanish skills. At their fingertips they will have a wealth of information about each item allowing for a richer gastronomic and cultural experience of Mexico.

The iBooks version has interactive features including multiple views of each food, audio pronunciation and popup ‘extras’ such as nutritional facts and recipes.

The Kobo (for Android coming within a month after iBooks release) version will feature the same wealth of content, reconfigured for that platform.

The guide will cost US$12.99, however as a special offer to readers of The Yucatan Times, this invaluable tool can be yours at 35% off the regular price if you pre-order before the launch date (May 20), so don’t delay, and order today using this special link: https://gumroad.com/l/fyvmexico/presale65
