Cancun expects one million tourists for the summer holiday season, said Francisco Lopez Reyes, director of Tourism for Benito Juarez municipality.
The expected economic benefit amounts to 15 billion pesos, mainly from domestic tourists, who are estimated to spend 15 thousand pesos per stay.
The occupancy is expected to average 95% and at times reach full capacity.
The tourism sector is growing, and there will be two thousand new hotel rooms over the next few years, Lopex Reyes said. Investment growth would be approximately 10% over the previous year, he added. (Novedades Quintana Roo)
