This is the 46th year of a movement that continues to inspire, challenge ideas, ignite passion, and motivate people to action.
In 1970, the year of the first Earth Day, the movement gave voice to an emerging consciousness, channeling human energy toward environmental issues. Forty-six years later, the effort continues to lead with groundbreaking ideas and by the power of “preaching with example”.
And so it begins. Today. Right here and right now. Earth Day is more than just a single day — April 22, 2016. It’s bigger than attending a rally and taking a stand.
This Earth Day and beyond, let’s make big stuff happen. Let’s plant 7.8 billion trees for the Earth. Let’s divest from fossil fuels and make cities 100% renewable. Let’s take the momentum from the Paris Climate Summit and build on it.
Let’s start now. And let’s not stop. Our troubled planet needs us more than ever.

And if you want to do something for this important movement here in Mérida, Yucatán; you can attend the INTERNATIONAL EARTH’S DAY PICNIC “Festival por la Tierra“.
This PICNIC emerges as the means to gather and add people to a growing community interested in improving the health, welfare and sustainability in “The White City”.
An so, International Earth Day is the best framework to meet, discuss, act and celebrate our beloved planet.
The PICNIC will take place on Saturday April 23rd, from 8 am to 5 pm at:
“Onelife Actitud Sana”
Calle 20 no. 71 (between 7 and 9) Col. San Antonio Cinta, 97139 Mérida, Yuc.
You will find:
– LOCAL MARKET
– CONFERENCES
– RECYCLING CENTER
– WORKSHOPS
The International Earth Day is a reminder that our planet needs each and every one of us to be committed to this cause and contribute in one way or another, so we can advance in the right direction.
Let’s get really big stuff done for our planet! What are we waiting for? The time is now!
