CANCUN, Q. Roo — After an intense chase and gun battle Wednesday March 30, agents of the Judicial Police of Quintana Roo arrested several suspected leaders of Jalisco’s New Generation Cartel, in an area of south Cancun.
One police officer was injured in the operation Wednesday night that resulted in seizure of two houses within a private development, along with vehicles and weapons.

Through his Twitter account, Governor Roberto Borge Angulo said Thursday morning that at 6 p.m. District Attorney Humberto Alvarez Escalera will announce more details of the operation.
Unofficially it is known that six subjects were arrested, four of whom were from Tamaulipas and Tabasco. In their first statements, the suspects disclosed that they belong to the Cartel Jalisco New Generation, who came to Cancun a few days ago with the intention of obtaining control of distribution of various types of drugs.
