US Consulate to fund community projects in San Luis Potosí

The US consulate in Monterrey, Nuevo León, included the central Mexico state of San Luis Potosí in the call to provide financial support to non-governmental organizations and community leaders with projects that can benefit their local community. Fundings of up to USD $15,000 are available to develop the initiatives.
In a statement, the Institute for Migration and International Liaison of the state reported that on January 28 personnel of the US Consulate General in Monterrey will visit the city of San Luis Potosí to provide the details of the solicitation.
The financial support is offered to NGOs and community leaders for projects that could benefit their people on issues such as environmental challenges, human rights, youth, and opportunities for women or vulnerable communities. Also in innovation, science, technology, mathematics, democracy, freedom of expression and good governance as well as entrepreneurship, and education, among others.

It pointed out that with this program the Consulate seeks to promote opportunities among members of NGOs to develop skills, activities, ideas or projects addressing specific needs of the community where they reside.

It stressed that the projects must be related to the support of shared policies between both countries to expand and deepen mutual understanding.

The amount of funding ragnes from USD $2,500 to $15,000.
