Jorge C.G., a fisherman from Flamboyanes, in the Progreso municipality, turned himself in to the Ministerial Police in Merida, confessing that on Thursday January 14, he killed his friend Jesús, declaring that he was his occasional sex partner.

In this regard, the Attorney General’s Office did not make any comments, just stated that they are investigating the cause of death of Jesus M.R.B., a 50 years old man from Flamboyanes who was reported missing.

In the next 24 hours, Jorge C.G. should be made available to a judge in Progreso (in compliance with the legal procedures), but it may take longer because there was no flagrancy, and so the judge must issue an arrest warrant.

According to reports, the body of Jesus M.R.B. was found Tuesday January 19 on the afternoon in a semi-sitting position in a vacant lot at the Paraíso “Comisaría” (municipality of Progreso).

The deceased had been reported missing from his home in Flamboyanes since Saturday January 9.

The body was identified by one of his brothers, who was alerted by neighbors of that place that were aware he was looking for his relative.

It became known that Jorge went ashore on Thursday January 14, met with Jesus and went to a bar with him in downtown Progreso.

Jorge declared that on their way to Paraíso, where he lived, they began to argue and upon arrival, they started to fight and that was when Jorge hit Jesus in the head with a rock and killed him.
