

On Saturday January 23rd, Mexican state oil company Pemex reported on its Twitter account a fire in the engine room of the Zaap platform E, located in the Campeche Sound (Sonda de Campeche), however, no casualties or injuries were reported by the company.
97 workers were immediately evacuated from the premises to avoid any further incidents.

Also through Twitter, Pemex announced that the fire was under control, the platform was back in operation and there was absolutely no oil spill or leak.
They also disclosed that the internal emergency response plan was activated and that nobody from the platform staff was injured.
