With the participation of about 10 thousand establishments of various lines of business and service, “El Buen Fin” 2015 started in Yucatán on Friday November 13th, with discounts of 20 to 60 percent.
The president of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism of Merida (Canaco-Servytur), Jose Manuel López Campos, said that this year sales of six billion pesos are expected. During the formal opening of “El Buen Fin” López Campos decalred: “I am confident that this new edition will consolidate Merida as the commercial capital of southeastern Mexico”, and underlined that this year the number of participating businesses increased by five percent.
During his speech at a typical Yucatecan clothing store, that specializes in guayabera fashion, the president of Canaco-Servytur said: “in previous years our city has been one of the top places in sales, and this year it won’t be an exception, since Merida is well positioned as the commercial capital of the Southeast, and therefore will host thousands of buyers from other cities and states during this weekend. These visitors will be able to find a wide range of products and services to choose from; and they will enjoy their shopping spree in peace and tranquility” he said .
The success of “El Buen Fin” is based in the confidence of both entrepreneurs and consumers. They timetabled this event because they found that it has a double benefit: 1) increase of sales with discounts and specials (for the seller); and 2) support to the family financial situation with lower prices and credit terms.
Lopez Campos highlighted the trust consumers have in this program, as in previous years and noted that the offers are real and unique. However, he called on citizens to be responsible while buying, to compare prices and choose the best option that fits their budget and avoid debt above its economic capacity.
On the issue of the police forces, said that the federal, state and municipal governments, have an obligation to safeguard the physical integrity of persons who will attend the malls, the historic center and various areas of the city to shop.
