Rapper Snoop Dogg started selling his own line of marijuana flower and cannabis products in Colorado pot shops this week— making the multiplatinum MC the first A-list celebrity to the market with a full, self-branded line of commercialized cannabis.
As a recording artist, Snoop Dogg has sold over 21 million albums in United States and 35 million albums worldwide; he has appeared in numerous films; starred in three television programs, and even directed and produced pornographic movies and other documentaries.
And now, Snoop launched his new weed line, Leafs By Snoop, at an extravagant private party on Monday November 9th at a suburban Denver home owned by LivWell owner John Lord. LivWell, one of the largest pot shop operators and cannabis cultivators in Colorado, will sell Leafs By Snoop products exclusively in Colorado for the first 30 days, after which the product will be available wholesale to other shops, according to a source close to the brand.
Leafs By Snoop cannabis products are made under a Colorado marijuana license belonging to Beyond Broadway, which does business as LivWell and will grow all of the brand’s flower and manufacture its edibles and concentrates.
Snoop can’t technically own the Leafs By Snoop brand, because he’s not a Colorado resident.
“Since I’ve been at the forefront of this movement for over 20 years now, I’m a master of marijuana,” Snoop said. “So naturally, my people can trust that I picked out the finest, freshest products in the game. Let’s medicate, elevate and put it in the air.”
The Leafs By Snoop bud offerings include eight strains of marijuana flower — Cali Kush, Northern Lights, Blueberry Dream and others — sold as pre-packaged eighths, quarters and ounces.
The same eight strains are available as concentrates, both wax and shatter. And the Leafs By Snoop edibles line includes six different chocolate bar flavors, four types of cannabis drops, two gummies flavors, four fruit chews options and what Snoop calls “peanut butter gems.”
