HOLBOX, Q. Roo.- Holbox Island is preparing to host the Eat, Love and Contemplate Gastronomic Festival 2015, (Festival Gastronómico Comer, Amar y Contemplar 2015), under the direction of Brazilian singer and recording artist Denise de Kalafe, who became famous in Mexico for her late 70s hit, “Señora Señora”.
From 22 to 24 October, the island will be dressed in long tablecloths to conduct the emblematic culinary festival for the fourth consecutive year.
‘Best Day’ Blog reported that this year, the guest of honor is Chihuahua, so it is a great opportunity to get to know this state in northern Mexico through its flavors.
As an important part of the celebration, it highlighted the development of a huge ceviche, which is aimed to get the Guinness record for its large number of servings (2,500). This activity will have a strong participation of all the fishermen of the island in the Chendorito fishing tournament.
To accompany these four festival days, nothing beats the flavor of rhythm and musical artists such as Sonora Santanera, Sonora Matancera, Margarita the Goddess of Cumbia and romantic Dulce, among a wide repertoire.
