Carnival Elation crew member buys pizza for Progreso residents

A crew member of Carnival Elation cruise ship, surprised dozens of people in downtown Progreso on Thursday October 15th, giving away 1,270 slices of pizza among students and residents in the city center.

Bill Mutzie, who works as a comedian on board the Elation stepped into the local Domino’s Pizza shop in Progreso and bought 127 pizzas for which he paid more than $ 15,000 pesos(883 US dollars) in cash.

The comedian was accompanied by several passengers and cruise coworkers, who helped with the distribution of pizza among the population. The money was collected with the tips obtained during two of the shows offered every night aboard the Carnival Elation.

The American standup comedian and other crew members and passengers walked along the malecon and then made their way through the streets of Progreso, stopping by a few local schools to hand out pizza to the students. Several street vendors and craftsmen received a slice or two as well.
