Campeche looking to attract international tourism

At a press conference, the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Campeche, Jorge Manos Esparragoza, said the state will be in constant development with the aim of attracting international tourists and to develop Campeche as a favorite destination for visitors from all over the world.

Manos Esparragoza said Campeche’s tourism promotions are expensive but are the main linchpins that the current administration will work on. President Enrique Peña Nieto authorized the allocation of resources through the federal Ministry of Tourism (FONATUR).

The Governor Alejandro Moreno Cardenas, aims to use tourism to transform and grow the state.

Manos Esparragoza also said that Moreno Cardenas seeks a boost in tourism facilities, where Campeche has great potential. Calakmul and Mixed Heritage of Humanity will be the priority for promotion.

Manos Esparragoza reported that as part of work to boost tourism, Campeche was present at the 37th edition of the tourism fair TOP RESA 2015 International French Travel Market, the leading tourism event for professionals in France.

He noted that on average 12,000 French tourists visit each year the southern Mexican state and that this is a very important market, since after the Germans, they are most to come from Europe.

The head of the State Tourism Ministry said that during his administration he will seek to generate more promotion, but more rational budget spending and above all work hand in hand with the federal Ministry of Tourism (FONATUR).
