Los Tigres del Norte Propose Boycott against Donald Trump

Los Tigres del Norte (English: The Tigers of the North) is a norteño-band ensemble based out of San Jose, California, with origins in the little town of Rosa Morada, municipality of  Mocorito, Sinaloa, Mexico.

The group was started by Jorge Hernández, his brothers, and his cousins. They began recording after moving to San Jose, California in the late 1960s, when all the members were still in their teens.

They were sponsored by a local record company, Discos Fama, owned by an Englishman named Art Walker, who took them under his wing and helped them find jobs and material, as well as recording all of their early albums.

Today, in the year 2015, Los Tigres del Norte are proposing a boycott against all projects and products of Republican hopeful Donald Trump after he offended Mexican immigrants.

We are deeply offended for all that he has said against Mexicans who live in that country (United States),” the members of the Mexican band said at a press conference in Bogotá, Colombia.

They added that Donald Trump “invented this campaign against Mexicans to gain popularity among certain sectors of the American population.” The statements made by this character “hurt the hearts and feelings of Mexicans. We are shocked.”

We Latinos go to the United States to work and send money to our families,” the members of the band added.

Los Tigres del Norte expect that Mexicans and Latin Americans entitled to vote in the United States, “do not vote for him (Donald Trump).”
