In order to have a more active participation in the Expo 2015 in Milan, Italy; Governor Rolando Zapata Bello, attended the seat of municipal government of Bergamo, in the Lombardy region, where he was received by Mayor Giorgio Gori, and by the representative of the Tourism Office of this Italian city.

The chief executive commented on the new air link between Yucatan and the territory of Bergamo, and urged to make the most of the deal in order to impulse business, academic and tourist enterprises in both directions, for the ultimate benefit of both regions.

The possibilities of this deal are limitless, and the best part is that the state will become the gateway window between Europe and to the southeast of Mexico“, Zapata Bello said.

The Italian tourist committee, commented that Bergamo is the second most important city in the entire continent when it comes to the manufacturing of goods. Therefore, the opportunities for exchange and economic growth in Yucatan will increase thanks to the newly open direct flight Merida-Milan, which will start operating today, Monday April 13th, 2015.

In this context,  the Governor said that foreign researchers and specialists can travel rather more quickly thanks to the new air route between Milan and the Yucatecan capital, which undoubtedly represent a wide opportunity to enrich the scientific collaboration.
