

VALLADOLID. – On Tuesday April 28 the heavy rain in Valladolid left at least two dead and six injured.
One of those killed was taxi driver Luis Cupul Cocom, who died after being crushed by a seven meters (20 feet) tall palm tree, which fell on top of his car when brought down by the strong winds near the nightclub “Santos Vaia” in the downtwon area of Valladolid.
A brother of the deceased who arrived at the scene said he was married, and declared that his family was out of town.

The intervention of police and fire departments was necessary to release the body from what was left of the car.
On another fatal accident near Valladolid, two vehicles collided head to head on the highway that leads to the archaeological site of Chichen Itza, leaving one dead and six were injured.
