The Secretary of Tourism Promotion of Yucatan, Saul Ancona Salazar, officially announced that the reconstruction of 4,600 square meters within the Uxmal Hall at the Yucatan Siglo XXI Convention Center in Merida, will begin on Wednesday December 16.
Along with the modernization of the facilities, internal regulations of the property will also be updated.
These new regulations will prohibit massive concerts, as well as exterior advertising, among other specifications.
Ancona Salazar led a tour inside the premises with Carlos Franco Osorno, Manager of the Yucatan Siglo XXI Convention Center, and provided details of the works to begin on 16th of this month and will be completed in the second week of February 2015.
The investment will be $ 50 million pesos (3.5 Million USD), and the project will be uner the supervsion of Comey (Comisión Metropolitana de Yucatán), using resources from the state government budget.
