Hotel Occupancy in Quintana Roo Exceeds Expectations

The Riviera Maya reported a hotel occupancy of more than 90% during the first weekend of August, according to the Director of the Trust for Tourism Promotion of the Riviera Maya and Cozumel (FPTRM), Dario Flota Ocampo. 
“In the first weekend of August, Quintana Roo recorded 90.5 percent occupancy in the accommodation centers. On Friday 1st of this month we had 91.1% occupancy; Saturday, 91.9%, and Sunday 91.7%” said Flota Ocampo, as reported by Notimex.  During the same weekend, Playacar exceeded 95% cumulative occupation, with percentages of 96.5 on Friday; 95 on Saturday; 95.9 on Sunday, and 94.1 on Monday.

According to the data and statistics of the Ministry of Tourism of the State (Sedetur), the Mayan Riviera in July averaged 85.8% cumulative occupation.
This year tourism indicators show that from January to June, the area had an influx of 2,182,323 tourists, 3.6% above last year with 2,105,000 visitors.
