“Max”, was a 14 months old dog, that was sexually abused and brutally attacked on Friday August 15th, in Tizimin, Yucatán.
The attackers also popped out one of its eyes. The dog, half cocker, half dachshund, ran away from home on the morning hours of Friday August 15th.
On Saturday 16th, it was found behind the “Barrera Palmero” School, near a vacant lot. The owners heard shrieks and when they came closer, realized that it was their little dog “Max”.
The family, shocked to see their dog with one-eye hanging out of its orbit, suspected it was sexually abused (apparently raping dogs is a common practice in the region), so they asked activist Doris Canul Chan for help, and she accompanied them to the Prosecutor’s Office to file the complaint.
The animal was examined and the doubts were confirmed as semen was found in the dog’s rectum.
Doris Canul told Diario de Yucatan that the owners authorized euthanasia to stop the poor dog from suffering.
