Rocío Nahle who has been designated by AMLO as the next Energy Secretary, is a Chemical Engineer from the University of Zacatecas with a PHD in Petro-chemics.

Nahle declared a few days ago that there will be no witch hunt againstRomero Deschamps. However, workers and retirees of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) demanded on Saturday August 4, the resignation and trial of Senator Carlos Romero Deschamps, who is the leader of the National Union of Petroleum Workers of the Mexican Republic (SNTPRM).

The petition forms part of the platform of the National Movement for Petroleum Transformation (Movimiento Nacional de la Transformación Petrolera MNTP) , with which María de Lourdes Díaz Cruz seeks to run for leader of the aforementioned union. The assembly of the MNTP was held in Colonia Tabacalera, in Mexico City, within the Francisco Breña Alvire Auditorium of the Mexican Electricity Workers Union (Sindicato Mexicano de Electricistas SME).

Díaz Cruz argued that the free and secret vote should be applied for the election of the next leader since the method of election “by raising hands” has served as a mechanism of oppression against the memebers of the union.

Who is Carlos Romero Deschamps?

Carlos Antonio Romero Deschamps is a Mexican politician affiliated with the PRI. He currently serves as Senator of the LXII Legislature of the Mexican Congress.

Romero Deschamps has been the leader of the oil union for the past 25 years.

Among the scandals involving Romero Deschamps we can point out:

  • The limited-edition Ferrari Enzo, valued at more than $ 2 million USD he gave his son.
  • His luxury yacht in Cancun, which is valued at $ 3 million USD.
  • His collection of watches, highlighting an 18-carat gold Audemars Piguet, with a cost of $ 200,000 USD.
  • In addition to a 6.4 million USD mansion in Acapulco.

Just to mention a few…

Regarding the statements of Rocío Nahle, who will be the Secretary of Energy in the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, that there will be no “witch hunt” inside the STPRM, Díaz Cruz said that she supports her in thath decision.

Nahle declared, a few days ago, that as soon as she takes office, she will not undertake a persecution against the SNTPRM leader and current Senator Carlos Romero Deschamps.
