Not all Yucatecans are aware that they can reach the center of the country by means of the new direct flight Mérida-Querétaro, of TAR Airlines, which was launched since June.
This flight is important for residents of the “White City” who want to travel to the Bajío region for business reasons. Taking into account that in this region there are some of the most advenced and state-of-the-art industrial zones in Mexico, that house car assembly plants, and where engines for airplanes and helicopters are manufactured.
But it is also an excellent opportunity for all those who want to visit the beautiful state of Querétaro that has incredible destinations such as Tequisquiapan, Bernal or La Sierra Gorda, just to name a few.
And probably the most amazing fact about this excellent news, is that once the plane lands at the Intercontinental Airport of Querétaro, the traveler is only a few minutes from the wonderful city of San Miguel de Allende, named for two consecutive years as the best city in the world to visit, by readers from Travel + Leisure magazine.
All you need to do is rent a car at the airport and drive about 45 miles in a straight line to get to San Miguel!

And if you drive one more hour to the west, you will arrive at the fantastic colonial city of Guanajuato, one of the most beautiful in the world and home to the Cervantino Festival, which is held every year.
