The lowest temperature registered in the state on Monday December 11 was in Oxkutzcab 8.5ºC (47ºF), while in Merida the thermometer registered 13.4ºC (56ºF)…

For today Tuesday Dec. 12 and tomorrow Wednesday Dec. 13, the low temperatures in the region will continue, however, on Thursday Dec. 14, a slight increase in the minimum values could be observed, reported the National Water Commission (Conagua), through the Regional Hydrometeorological Center of Merida. (CHRM), of the National Meteorological Service (SMN).

According to forecasts, for today, minimum records are expected in Yucatan of 10ºC (50ºF) to 14ºC (57.2ºF), without ruling out slightly lower temperatures in the south of the state. The maximums would oscillate between 25ºC (77ºF) and 29ºC (84.2ºF) for the three states of the Yucatan Peninsula.

Conditions are expected to be clear to partly cloudy with isolated drizzles in the northern zones of Yucatan; north and south of Campeche; and north and coastal area of Quintana Roo. The winds would come from the north to northeast from 15 km/h (9.3 miles per hour) to 20 km/h (12.42 miles per hour) with gusts of up to 40 km/h (24.85 miles per hour) in coastal areas.

Tomorrow, the minimum values would oscillate between 12ºC (53.6ºF) and 16ºC (60ºF) in Yucatan. The maximums would oscillate again between 25ºC (77ºF) and 29ºC (84.2ºF) for the three states of the Yucatan Peninsula. The winds and gusts forecast are expected in the same way as today.

For Thursday, the CHRM estimates minimums of 14ºC (57.2ºF) to 18ºC (64.4ºF) in Yucatan. The inflow of maritime air from the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea into the region will interact with the presence of a trough, which could cause some rains in the north and east of Yucatan.
