MERIDA – A total of 29 health specialists were awarded in the fourth edition of the Doctoralia Awards, in tribute to the career and service they offer through the world’s leading platform that connects health professionals with patients throughout Mexico.
Among the best rated specialists of this edition, there are three Yucatecans. Two of them obtained the first position in their respective specialties: Dr. Sara Leticia García De la Garza (Aesthetic Medicine) and Dr. Luis Miguel Estrada (Internal Medicine and Infectology). In addition, Yucatán obtained a third place in the specialty of Allergology and Immunology at the national level with Dr. Herberth Pérez Avilés.
The Doctoralia Awards are the only ones in their category that consider the following three parameters: 1) the opinion of patients 2) the recognition of other colleagues in the digital platform 3) the contribution of professionals to the patient community through the ‘Ask the Expert’ section.

In this 2017 edition, the awards included three new specialties: Internal Medicine and Infectology, Aesthetic Medicine and Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine. ‘The incorporation of new specialties is made possible thanks to professionals who become aware of the importance of having a complete and visible profile on the Internet. This allows us, year after year, to broaden the spectrum and give the opportunity to more health professionals to be voted on and valued by their patients and colleagues,” said Dr. Frederic Llordachs, co-founder of Doctoralia. In addition, the Doctoralia Awards have again broken record participation with a shortlist of 420 nominees.
