The API Progreso Mall would begin to function before the 2018 Easter season, with the company Ricsa awarded the space concession….

PROGRESO — Raúl Torre Gamboa, director of the Port, said that after an investment of $12 million pesos for the construction of a commercial plaza next to the international pier, the company Ricsa obtained the concession for the construction. The mall would open its doors before next year’s Easter holidays.

Torre Gamboa explained that this project is promoted by the Federal Government, as part of the work of the port administrations, to support the populations where ports are located, and will support local tourism, offering visitors a new place to have fun.

According to foreigners coming from cruise ships, their stay in Progreso after a while tends to be boring, given the limited tourist attractions and the few options offered by the place.

Torre Gamboa commented that the space will offer many national and international products, and the restaurants will offer a wide variety of meals excluding fish or seafood, because there are already a lot of those places in the area.

With this new opening, the API seeks to attract visitor influx to the international pier, because it has decreased a lot in the recent months, in order to take advantage of the potential of the site and thereby expand the possibilities of the port development.
