The wave of robberies to homes and residences in Merida is spreading like a tsunami.

This week new complaints were heard and denunciations of neighbors of various fraccionamientos and colonies of the city that were victims of the lovers of what belongs to other people.

In the last two weeks owners of residences of the north, west and northeast of the Yucatecan capital have suffered in their own flesh that type of crime.

Numerous owners of houses in the Colonia Maya, very close to Altabrisa, reported a wave of thefts. The most recent occurred on Monday May 15, at the residence of an aviator pilot, agent of the Attorney General, assigned to the hangar of the state administration.

The robbery, which occurred during the early morning, amounted to more than $400,000 pesos ($21,000 USD).

Similar events were also reported in other streets of the Mayan colony, mainly in 24 A between 13 and 15; in the 11 between 22 and 24, and in the 24 between 11 and 13.

Tuesday, another plunder was discovered. It was in a house on 44th Street between 27 and 29 of the Residencial Pinos. The thieves took away a safe with $500,000 pesos ($26,500 USD).
