Parents of the 43 students of the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers College joined in solidarity with the protest led by the San Quintín Laborers in Mexico City, demanding justice from the Mexican government.

The protest took place simultaneously to the public hearing before the International Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) in Washington, marking the 30th month without conclusive information on the whereabouts of the 43 students.

“Thanks to the unconditional support of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, we have achieved significant progress in undermining the official [false] version of the facts issued by the federal government,” said Melitón Ortega, father of one of the missing students.

“The federal government has delivered nothing but lies and deception. They want to shut us down. But we will persist until we find them, we are willing to risk our lives for it,” said Emiliano Navarrete, father of José Ángel one of the disappeared students.

Along with other social organizations, the protestors demanded the cooperation of the Mexican government to facilitate the work of the IACHR Follow-Up project on the Iguala case.
