Crocodiles dead

Just weeks ago the president of the Cancun Nautical Associates, Ricardo Muleiro Lopez, announced that according to an investigation by the Onca Maya Civil Association at least 12 crocodiles have been found dead, apparently killed by homeowners located on the Nichupte lagoon system.

He argued that this situation is worrying because in addition to environmental issues, preserving the presence of such reptiles has also become a tourist attraction for the area.

However, he acknowledged that it is also necessary to create awareness among tourists about animals living in their natural state which are not used to human presence.
