Car Free Day is a free international event celebrated every September 22 in which people are encouraged to get around without driving alone in cars and instead ride a train, bus, bicycle, carpool, vanpool, subway, or walk.
For those that have the ability to work from home, telework also counts. Car Free Day is open to all people in the world.
To participate in this fun and worthwhile event, all you need to do is go car free or go car-lite on Thursday, September 22. It’s that simple!
Already car free? That’s great, and since you’re doing the right thing, you should spread the word on social networks and invite all your friends and relatives to go Car-free today.
Car Free Day is organized in various cities throughout the world in different ways, but with the common goal of reducing the number of cars on the streets.

Go “car-lite” by joining a carpool or vanpool for Car Free Day! Try to find rideshare partners for commuting or special events.
Some of us use the bus regularly, well, today is the perfect ocassion to take advantage of this public service.
