New building of the Congress of Yucatan Inaugurated by Governor and Minister of the Interior

With the presence of the Mexican Minister of the Interior, Miguel Angel Osorio Chong, the new headquarters of the Yucatán State Legislature building was inaugurated on Monday August 24th, 2015.

The federal official was accompanied by the governor of Yucatán, Rolando Zapata Bello, Judge Marcos Celis Quintal, legislators and other officials from the three levels of government.

The property, located on the west side of Merida was built with an investment exceeding 120 million pesos (approximately 7.1 million USD).

Prior to this event the Interior Minister Miguel Angel Osorio Chong led a ceremony to launch the annual program known as “September Month of the Will”(Septiembre Mes del Testamento).

At the Siglo XXI Convention Center, Osorio Chong stated that: “this program seeks to provide legal certainty to Mexican families and to strengthen the “everyday justice”, which is required to move to a state of law and a stronger democracy”.
