Google recently launched a new tool as part of their Google Translate app, available for Android and iOS users. The updated app is more dynamic than ever thanks to technological improvements to Google Translate.

Instant translator with Word Lens

The app uses your cell phone camera to photograph text and translate it in real time. It works with more than 36 languages. The innovative app allows the user to translate any signs or text from an image, superimposing the translation on the screen without the need for a network connection.  Languages such as English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish are supported.

Translating Conversations in Real Time

Although Android has had real time translation since 2013, the new update makes the conversation flow faster and more naturally. Simply start talking into the microphone in the selected language and the translator automatically recognizes which of the two languages is being spoken, resulting in a more fluid conversation.
