Nerio Torres Arcila will be the PRI Party candidate for mayor of Mérida.

Mérida, Yucatán, January 7, 2015.-

The PRI Party of Yucatan will present today Nerio José Torres Arcila as its candidate for mayor of Mérida. Torres Arcila was the Secretary of Social Development in the government of Rolando Zapata, and held positions including President of the State Executive Committee of the PRI Party in the 2007 elections.

“I assume with great enthusiasm and commitment to this challenge. In the coming months I will work with the PRI, its sectors, organizations and groups of organized civil society and other citizens because together we face the future of Mérida,” said Torres Arcila.

Mauricio Vila Dosa will be the PAN Party candidate for mayor of Mérida.l

Mauricio Vila Dosal attended the General Secretariat of the State Congress to request a leave from office and separate from his post as Congressman for the Local District IV indefinitely, in order to participate as a candidate for mayor of Merida by the PAN Party.

 After the delivery of the request, the legislator spoke with the media and expressed satisfaction for the work done in District IV, representing citizens in Congress.

In a press release, PAN Party spokesman explained that Congressman Mauricio Vila introduced more initiatives during his time in Congress and most of those initiatives were adopted in this Legislature, all approved unanimously.

 “My goal is to work hand in hand with citizens, because it is them who know firsthand the problems of the city. live close to problems. It was very enriching the views and suggestions of citizens, with whom I worked very close during Congress with their proposals“. Mauricio Vila declared.

Now the citizens of Merida will decide in the upcoming elections who will be Mayor of the Estate Capital of one of Mexico´s most important and fast growing municipalities.
