Mérida Yucatán -December 18, 2014 – 9:52 a.m.

The State Government introduced the “new integrated system of urban transportation”. This new application will be divided into four stages that includes:

  • Seven new routes to service more than 100,000 passengers.
  • The renovation of 140 transportation units.
  • The change to new, intelligent traffic lights in conflictive crossings.
  • The installation of 1,154 new bus stops, among other actions.

It is hoped that with this new system, users will have the advatage of the new transportation units, better designed routes, the use of prepaid cards and other advantages.

The ceremony was headed by the Governor Rolando Zapata Bello in the premises of the State Transportation Direction, in which the first new units were presented to transport companies, lawmakers, Police Chief, and State and Federal officials.
