MÉRIDA, YUCATÁN – As you may have noticed over the last few days, there have been some changes to The Yucatan Times website. In order to provide our readers with a better online experience, we´ve updated the main menu bar and website layout, and coming soon, we will have a new interactive classifieds section.

Some of the changes are small, for example we have changed the color of the menu bar (previously black and red) which is now the same navy blue as our logo. The navigation menu has been reorganized to be more logical, while we have also re-arranged the sections and sub-sections of our site to make it easier and faster for you to find the information or story you are looking for. Our intent is to make the site as user-friendly as possible.

Based on the frequency of our readers’ visits to sections of our site, we have removed the less popular sections entirely, replacing them with new sections which we believe will be of more interest. Our mission is to be the information source of choice for the expat community in the Yucatan peninsula, and our website is of course our primary tool.

At the top of the site you will also notice two new tabs, both of which are currently under construction; “About Us” (which will soon provide background information about our publication and other general information) and “Advertise With Us” (which will soon provide information and contact details for companies interested in advertising their goods and services to the expat community).

Our exciting new classifieds section is being prepared for launch – watch this space for more details soon.

Have you clicked on the “Directory” tab on our website yet? It’s our interface with inMerida – a comprehensive, verified, bilingual directory of businesses, hotels, restaurants and attractions. Please give it a try and let us know what you think.

We’ve made these changes based on our observations of what is popular on our site, as well as from talking to some of our readers; if we haven’t heard from you yet, we’d love to hear your comments and feedback; after all, you are the reason we exist.
