Yucatan’s new state legislative office building will be built on the city’s edge. The state government will construct a new building for the legislature along Merida’s Periférico.

The legislature’s current venue,  located in the crowded/tourist/marketplace district, right on the corner of Calle 59 and Calle 58, Downtown Merida, will become a tourist site.

The current Legislature Building was built in 1980, but today runs past capacity as the government has grown, and it has become totally obsolete.

The new building will be built at Periférico near the Security Complex, on state-owned land in the west side of Merida.
