Jean-Marie Binoche, is an actor, director and playwright whose interests include puppet theatre, and more recently “Mask Theatre”.

He gives his actors background information about their characters and instructions about the scenes they are to shoot, but he does not provide them with dialogue, all the actors on scene have to come up with their own dialogue; that is their contribution and their challenge.

On October 2003 Binoche, travelled to Cuba to participate in a dance event. Famous for his work with masks and productions for adults, Binoche has always defended Cuba’s artistic endeavour presence.

His work was the main attraction of the 9th International Encounter of Dance in Urban Landscape, “Moving City”, which took place in Havana and other venues within the island.
