Today in Merida we will have cloudy skies during the morning with afternoon showers or thunderstorms; a maximum temperature of 80F (28C), and a minimum of 71F (22C), 88% of humidity and a UV index of 9 points which is considered high, and even if it’s cloudy, sunscreen is recommended. Winds from the North at 15 to 25 mph will keep blowing during the day.

For the evening, scattered thunderstorms are expected. Partly cloudy skies after midnight. Chance of rain 40%. Winds from the North at 10 to 20 mph.

The rainfall is the result of the entrance of cold front number 55, and also this is the official start of the rainy season in the Yucatán Peninsula.

The rain prevails not only in Yucatan, but in different parts of the country, basically due to the arrival of cold front number 55.

The cold air coming from the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean sea will cause the temperature to drop in the states of the north, northeast, east and center of the country.

This situation will encourage heavy rain in Veracruz; with strong thunderstorms and hailstorms in Tabasco and Chiapas; strong in Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Distrito Federal, Morelos and Oaxaca, and keep showers of rain in Aguascalientes, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, Durango and Zacatecas.

The Yucatan Peninsula will continue with cloudy skies tomorrow, with 40 percent chance of rain, warm temperatures and winds fron the Southeast at 25 to 40 mph.
