On Sunday April 20, the beaches of Yucatan from Celestun to El Cuyo were packed with more than 250,000 people, although the highest concentration occurred in the stretch of coastline from Chuburná to Chicxulub Puerto.

Of course, the port with the highest number of visitors was Progreso with an average of 35 vehicles per minute entering between 9:00 and 12:00 hours.

People around the state, and from other states of the country who are visiting Yucatan, enjoyed nice weather, cool breeze and gentle waves that invited everyone to spend a great time in the company of their family and friends.

“Now is when we have better sales, as the number of visitors increases considerably during holiday weekends and then during weekdays we sell to cruises and foreign tourists, but they are only a few hours in the Port,” declared Manuel Pech Santiago, arts and crafts street vendor.

For next weekend, an increase of 30,000 to 40,000 visitors is expected, as is usual on the last days of Easter week holiday period.
