Dangerous group of assailants caught in Cancun

On Wednesday April 2, the Quintana Roo Judicial Police arrested four criminals who had just robbed a computer repair business in Supermanzana 44, Cancun,  managing to recover the stolen goods, along with two firearms and two stolen cars. The criminals were prosecuted on charges of theft, assault and possession of firearms according to the Attorney General’s Office.

Detainees are  Hector Armando Canul Avila , age 24 , from Cancun; Ignacio Oscar Olivera Arellanes ,age 39,  Luis Mauricio Alcudia Ocampo, age 44, and Mauricio Ocampo Garcia age 24 , the three from Coatzacoalcos Veracruz.

At 10:56 am on Wedenesday April 2, local Police officers were informed of a violent robbery in progress at the Supermanzana 44, block 13 B Local, the report mentioned subjects carrying firearms. When the officers were near the place , they came upon a man calling for help , who told them he got robbed by the men inside two vehicles that were just leaving the scene at high speed.

The thiefs were driving a Ford Ranger truck, red color, with camper, license plate TB 2167B and a Ford Fiesta , gray color, with license plates YHE 9711 , and so the agents initiated the persecution without losing sight of the two cars, which raced down Bacalar street, then took Avenida Cozumel and before Calle Luna, they were intercepted.

It was discovered that these men were linked to several other crimes in Cancun and Veracruz. They were taken to the Cancun Detention facility and a Criminal Court will determine the sentence.
