Modernization of the public transportation in Yucatan is urgent: State Government

Governor Rolando Zapata Bello officially recognized the new members of the Executive Committee of the Urban Transportation Union (Alianza de Camioneros de Yucatán, ACY) ” Gonzalo López Manzanero ” and his incoming General Secretary, Xavier Antonio Rodriguez Berzunza, for the period 2014-2017.

In the event, which was held at the Elementary school no. 46 ” Gonzalo López Manzanero ,” Governor Zapata Bello endorsed the commitment of his administration to work on a comprehensive modernization process of this organization that can include the existing good practices, while adding the best mobility national and international practices for the benefit of the population.

Accompanied by Public Safety Secretary, Luis Felipe Saiden Ojeda, and the head of the local congress, Luis Hevia Jiménez, said that after 80 years of its founding, the ACY constitutes one of the most important sectors in the economic development of the state, contributing largely to the transportation of passengers in Yucatan.

Therefore, he added, this organization should focus on improving security, strengthening the design of routes and having a more effective management system without neglecting quality care.

“We need to build that vision and assume these challenges together, creating the proper conditions to assure a better transportation service for all members of our society,” Governor Zapata Bello declared.

“During 83 years, the Union has gone through adverse situations, but it has always come up victorious thanks to the support of all employees, partners and state authorities,” Berzunza Rodriguez concluded.
