XII National Tourism Mundo Maya Forum

Yucatan is ready to host more than 1,500 attendees that are expected for the XII National Tourism Mundo Maya Forum, which was officially inaugurated on Sunday February 23rd, by Mexico´s Secretary of Tourism, Claudia Ruiz Massieu , with Governor Rolando Zapata Bello and State Secretary of Tourism Promotion , Saul Salazar Ancona.

This tourism industry Forum sparked intense activity since very early hours on Sunday morning at the Merida International Airport, with the arrival of legislators , ambassadors and ministers of tourism from the countries that belong to the “Maya World” Region, which will exchange points of view in order to propose new public policies in tourism promotion, connectivity and expansion among other topics.

This Forum is generating great expectations in the academic, business, legislative and cultural representatives of national and international media circles. It is also calling the attention of investors all over the world, who are willing to support the tourism industry in the region, generate foreign exchange, create jobs and trigger the local, regional and national economy.

The committee of the National Tourism Forum , chaired by Fernando Martí Brito, will use this platform to launch Mexico as a destination for cultural tourism , potentiate the Southeast as the cradle of the Mayan civilization promoting 5 states: Yucatán, Chiapas, Campeche, Tabasco and Quintana Roo.
