High temperatures and probability of rain for the next days

Warm temperatures will prevail today, but the National Water Commission (Conagua) predicts rain for tomorrow afternoon and the following days.

Conagua reported that the maximum temperature registered yesterday in Mérida was 35.3ºC (95.5ºF)  at 4pm, while the minimum was 21.5ºC (70.7ºF), at 6 am.

The sky remained clear, no rainfall was recorded and the maximum wind speed was 20 km/h (12 mph) from Southeast.

Other Municipalities experienced high temperatures as well, the highest were Progreso with 32.5ºC (90.5ºF), Valladolid, 34.6ºC (94ºF) ; Motul 35ºC (95ºF) and Peto, 34.5ºC (94ºF).

According to Conagua, the higher temperature today in Mérida will range between 33ºC (91ºF) and 36ºC (96.8ºF), while the minimum would be 22ºC (71ºF).

The arrival of a “trough line” (Línea de vaguada) to the Yucatan Peninsula is expected for tomorrow, this will cause moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the region, during the afternoon.

Conagua explained that despite the presence of rain, warm temperatures will be felt on Thursday and Friday.
