A recreational boat caught fire last Sunday during a trial along the Yucatan coast. The yacht was seized with fire near the Chuburná area, but fortunately no deceased nor injured were reported.

The boat, named “Carioca”, apparently owned by Jorge Luis Esquivel Millet, director of the Institute of Legal Property and Security of Yucatan (Insejupy). According to preliminary reports, the yacht caught fire near the 1300 hours because of a short circuit and within minutes the fire consumed the boat. Luckily, by the time of the fire, the occupants had already been rescued, so there were no injuries.

The remains of the ship were taken to the port Chuburná.
