Campeche had one of the most tragic New Year´s in the history of the State

According to the Attorney General’s office of Campeche, the past New Year´s Eve was reported as the bloodiest in the last 5 years in the State, with 11 deaths between December 31 and January 1st, 2014.

From the 11 death reported, 5 were traffic accidents, 3 of them were rollovers in the  180 state highway Villahermosa – Escárcega. In Ciudad del Carmen a motorcyclist was hit by a car which ran away and in the Capital of the State, one person died after crashing his car on Pedro Sainz de Baranda Street, near downtown.muertes en Campeche

On the other hand, there were also 2 homicides, a senior citizen was murdered in the town of Calkiní and the other was an ex convict from a  Tabasco State Prison, that was found dead in the backyard of his property in the small town of Sabancuy.

In the Municipality of Candelaria the murder of a woman was reported; and in Ciudad del Carmen a man drowned in the Lagoon (Laguna de Términos) while he was under the influence of alcohol.

In the Capital of the State there was also reported the death of a 3 years old baby because of medical negligence when he was injected a dose of cortisone which resulted lethal.

Meanwhile in Calakmul, an old man died when he accidentally fell and hit his head in his bathroom.

Ministerial authorities said that this beginning of the year was one of the most tragic in the State of Campeche in the last 5 years.
